Awake Strengthens Support for Cardiac Healthcare with GH¢150,000 Donation to NCTC

Kasapreko PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cardiac healthcare in Ghana with a GH¢150,000 donation to the National Cardiothoracic Centre (NCTC) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for the first quarter of 2026.

The donation, made through the company’s Awake Purified Drinking Water brand under its long-running One4Life initiative, is aimed at supporting heart surgeries for children and financially disadvantaged patients receiving treatment at the Centre.

The contribution forms part of the company’s  sustained corporate social responsibility drive under the Awake brand, focused on improving access to critical healthcare services in Ghana. Through the One4Life initiative, a portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Awake Purified Drinking Water sold is dedicated to supporting cardiac treatment at the National Cardiothoracic Centre.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ensutua, Head and Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, underscored the importance of the partnership between the Centre and Kasapreko PLC, describing it as a longstanding relationship that has endured for more than a decade. According to him, discussions around the collaboration began on December 15, 10 years ago, with the shared objective of supporting cardiac patients who could not afford expensive heart surgeries and treatment. He further noted that the initiative has made a significant impact since its inception, contributing to approximately 150 successful surgeries, many of them involving children with critical heart conditions.

Beyond the cheque presentation, the Kasapreko delegation also visited patients in various wards of the Centre, where they distributed bottled water and interacted with patients and healthcare workers as part of efforts to encourage healthy living and emotional support for those undergoing treatment.

Awake Purified Drinking Water remains profoundly grateful to Ghanaians for their unwavering support over the years, as every contribution continues to strengthen the shared mission of giving hope and saving lives.
